Three mottos that's actually worth following in NYC
1. Be yourself; everyone else is taken.
You know what they say about clichés? They're cliché because they're true. Can you imagine a better place to see other personalities? Today, right ouside my window was a conflict between some guy, probably in a rough period in his life, with two-three cops. Later I walked passed this woman who was talking on the phone with somebody: "But I haven't had --- since I was, you know, a teenager." I didn't catch the name of what she had but do we really wanna know?
What I'm saying is that we all have our history and a way of handling it. Being yourself is not only about personality, but also the path you're walking, accepting how things turn out and knowing its in your power to change if you're not satisfied.
2. Once you accept your flaws, no one can use them against you.
This is cool. It's definitely a lot of confidence in this one. I'm thinking about the song confidence with Demi Lovato. It's true, though. Be your own best friend. Listen to what you need and don't judge your feelings. Why waste time trying to be a perfect example of a human being when (let's be honest) life is fucking boring without including your faults. And everyone else's!
3. If you've got it, flaunt it!
One that gets misunderstood A LOT. And the balance is hard to get. But I think, for me, this means to be proud of what you have, and to not hesitate to show it.
i was so close not to write tonight, I am so tired!! But I got a couple words down. I'm never promising a post again, I'll just write when I feel like it! At least I got to play Oprah and be a life guru. Which I pretty much am.
